The Island of Cozumel  Mexico

Located in the Caribbean Sea, 20 km. east of the Yucatan peninsula, the island of Cozumel is plain and formed of porous volcanic rock. It measures around 48 km2.
It is the third largest in Mexico and the most populated. Its climate is warm and humid.
The largest portion of the island is covered by rainforest, surrounded by rocky coasts and beaches or small lakes where mammals and birds live.
Nowadays, Cozumel has a port offering an excellent infrastructure and first class tourist services.
At least 27 kinds of endemic vertebrates live in the island.
The lands nourished by the reefs sustain migrating birds and bird populations. Iguanas and crocodiles and common in the place and amphibians are particularly colorful.
Cozumel invites us to enjoy charming outdoor activities, like hiking and cycling or even horse riding through romantic landscapes.
It is considered an excellent place to practice sport fishing of species such as sailfish, marlin and picudo; even international competitions are held in the island.
